Legal Accelerator Grants are for community-based organizations that serve low-income and/or underserved individuals and plan to:

  • Launch or expand direct civil legal services programs in issue areas or for communities where there is a scarcity of legal help

  • Provide direct civil legal services in New York State (excluding the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens or Staten Island)

  • Holistically center client needs in the provision of legal services

  • Commit to helping clients achieve greater access to justice, power and equity in the legal system

  • Have 501(c)(3) charitable status or a fiscal sponsor with 501(c)(3) charitable status

All FurtherJustice Grant programs prioritize organizations that are led by people of color and/or led by people who are representative of the community or communities that the organization serves.
